I didn't want to make another version of the same pad.

I’m Shagun. I’m an engineer, a menstrual cup user, and the founder of Papaya. I didn’t start Papaya because I thought people needed another pad brand. I started because I wanted to understand why the product itself hadn’t changed enough.

I wanted something that fit into people’s existing routines, but was built more thoughtfully — in how it handled blood, what it was made from, and how it felt to wear.

What if a pad worked with that behaviour?

That question became Papaya’s proprietary coagulating layer: technology designed to help solidify menstrual blood inside the pad rather than relying on conventional superabsorbent polymers.
